Hikari Ichihara

Hikari Ichihara is a talented trumpeter and flugelhorn player from Tokyo, born in 1982. She began her musical journey by learning classical trumpet in junior high school, later developing a passion for jazz inspired by musicians like Eric Miyashiro. Ichihara graduated from Senzoku Gakuen College of Music, where she studied jazz trumpet under Professor Tomonao Hara. Her professional career kicked off quickly, with notable performances including the 35th Yamano Big Band Jazz Concert, where she received the Outstanding Soloist Award. Her albums, such as "Sara Smile" and "Anthem," showcase her skill in blending jazz standards with original compositions, often collaborating with renowned musicians.

Ichihara has been active in both jazz and pop music, contributing to recordings by artists like Yutaka Nakamura, Takashi Matsumoto, and Maree. Her recent releases include "Brain Candy," "Anthem," and "Sings & Plays," which highlight her versatility and sensitivity as a performer. Known for her dynamic performances, Ichihara has participated in numerous bands and projects, solidifying her position as a leading figure in Japanese jazz.
