Disfuneral

Disfuneral is a French death metal band formed in 2015 in Nancy, emerging from the earlier band Herpes. They describe their style as "archaic death metal," heavily inspired by old-school death metal bands like Autopsy and Entombed, with a raw, brutal, and horror-themed sound that blends death, gore, and a grisly sense of atmosphere. The band line-up includes Renaud Mann on vocals, Florian Brabant on guitar, Clément Favre on bass, and Nicolas Bauer or Yann Remy on drums, depending on the release. Their music is characterized by ferocious riffs, guttural vocals, and pounding rhythms that pay tribute to the roots of the genre while bringing forward their own dark personality and intensity.

They debuted with a self-titled EP in 2017 and released their first full-length album, *Blood Red Tentacle*, in 2022, a record praised for its blend of death, thrash, doom, and punk influences reminiscent of early Autopsy and Obituary. Following that, their sophomore album *In Horror, Reborn* (2025) has been noted for its relentless and authentic old-school death metal style with monstrous vocals and tight musicianship, delivering a fresh yet classic death metal experience that continues to expand their reputation in the underground extreme metal scene.
