Chucho Martínez Gil, born Jesús Bojalil Gil on December 19, 1917, in Puebla, Mexico, was a renowned Mexican singer and composer. He began his musical career in 1934 and is remembered for hits like *Ensoñación* and *Dos arbolitos*. Martínez Gil was also known for his work in film as an actor and soundtrack contributor, appearing in movies such as *Teatro del crimen* (1957) and *El hombre del alazán* (1959). Throughout his career, he received several prestigious awards, including the *Medalla Agustín Lara* from the Society of Authors and Composers of Music (SACM) and honorary citizenship from Misantla.
Married to actress Rosario Gutiérrez, Martínez Gil passed away on May 22, 1988, in Mexico City. His legacy remains significant in Mexican music, with remastered releases of his works continuing to be celebrated by fans today.
