Alexi Murdoch

Alexi Murdoch is a singer-songwriter known for his mellow, folk-inspired music that resonates with introspection and emotional sincerity. Born on December 27, 1973, in London to a Greek father and Scottish-French mother, Murdoch's multicultural background is as eclectic as his musical influences. He moved to Scotland while still young and later relocated to the United States for university. Murdoch gained visibility in the early 2000s with the release of his EP "Four Songs" in 2002, which became the all-time top seller on CD Baby, a popular online store for independent music. This success helped him carve a space for himself in the singer-songwriter scene.

Murdoch's full-length debut album, "Time Without Consequence," came out in 2006 and further established his reputation as a thoughtful and poetic artist. The album's contemplative nature and acoustic sensibility garnered critical acclaim and caught the attention of film and television music supervisors, leading to Murdoch's songs being featured in a host of soundtracks. "Towards The Sun," released in 2011, is his subsequent collection of songs; it showcased a continuation of his heartfelt songwriting alongside a subtle evolution in his sound. Even with a relatively sparse discography, Alexi Murdoch's work, including quietly moving renditions of classics like "Silent Night," has cemented his position as a cherished voice in the indie folk genre, with a fanbase that cherishes his every rare release and performance.
