Holy Tongue

Holy Tongue is a UK-based experimental trio blending heavy dub rhythms, psychedelic textures, and ritualistic intensity. Formed in the late 2010s, the group features iconic Sleep/Om bassist Al Cisneros, avant-garde percussion powerhouse Valentina Magaletti (known for work with Tomaga, Moin, and Vanishing Twin), and synth/electronics manipulator Susumu Mukai (aka Zongamin). Their sound collides Cisneros' signature meditative low-end with Magaletti's polyrhythmic percussion and Mukai's disorienting analog textures, creating a primal vortex of dubwise heaviness and trance-inducing repetition.

The band has steadily released hypnotic singles and EPs like *II* and *III* through Alter Records, with tracks like "Deliverance and Spiritual Warfare" and "The Tumbling Psychic Joy of Now" showcasing their signature fusion of tribal drums, molten basslines, and industrial-tinged atmosphere. Their live performances amplify this alchemy, often described as a physical, borderline spiritual experience that bridges doom metal's weight with free-form psychedelic exploration.
