Quruli

Quruli (くるり) is a Japanese rock band that has been a staple in their country's music scene since their formation in 1996. Originating from Kyoto, the band was founded by core members Shigeru Kishida (vocals and guitar) and Masashi Sato (bass), with drummer Yusuke Takaki joining later on. Over the years, Quruli's sound has evolved and expanded, embracing a diverse range of genres such as pop, electronic, folk, and classical music. This eclecticism has earned them a respectable following both in Japan and internationally, with their music characterized by inventive instrumentals and introspective lyrics.

Despite changes in their lineup over the years, the band’s creative output has remained consistent and innovative. Their recent releases like "driven by impulse" and "California coconuts" showcase their ability to blend catchy melodies with a sense of musical exploration. The "Sun of Love EP" and its accompanying single "Sun of Love" further exemplify Quruli's talent for crafting sun-drenched, emotive soundscapes that resonate with fans. With tracks such as "midsummer sunset," "August," "Treasure hunting," and "Highway," the band continues to capture the fleeting moments of daily life and the changing seasons, wrapping them in lush, comforting arrangements.
