Steve Lawrence is an American singer, actor, and comedian. He is best known for his work with his wife, Eydie Gormé, as the singing duo Steve & Eydie. Lawrence has also had a successful solo career, releasing over 20 albums. He has also appeared in numerous films and television shows, including "The Steve Lawrence Show" and "The Carol Burnett Show."

Lawrence was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1935. He began singing at an early age and won a talent contest at the age of 12. He met Gormé in 1953, and they married two years later. The couple went on to have two children. Lawrence and Gormé performed together for over 50 years, until Gormé's death in 2013.
