Giancarlo De Lorenzo

Giancarlo De Lorenzo is an accomplished Italian conductor known for his dynamic leadership and deep musical insight. He studied organ and organ composition at the School of Music of Brescia, graduating with high marks under the guidance of Maestro F. Castelli. Since 1992, De Lorenzo has been the Principal Conductor of the Orchestra Vox Aurae of Brescia, and in 2003 he took on the role of Artistic Director and Principal Conductor. His career highlights include serving as the Artistic and Music Director of the prestigious Sanremo Symphony Orchestra since 2015, where he carefully nurtures young talent and leads a versatile repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary music.

Under his direction, the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra has continued to thrive as one of Italy's oldest and most respected musical institutions, known for its adaptability and vibrant performances. De Lorenzo's passion for music shines through not only in traditional concerts but also in innovative programming that engages audiences of all ages, ensuring that the orchestra remains a musical cornerstone in the Liguria region.
