Bentley Rhythm Ace

Bentley Rhythm Ace, often abbreviated to BRA, is a British electronic duo formed in Birmingham in 1997 by former members of the band Pop Will Eat Itself, Mike Stokes and Richard March, along with guest musicians. They emerged during a period when big beat music, a genre that combines elements of breakbeat, rock, and psychedelic sounds, was on the rise - a movement led by acts like The Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim. Bentley Rhythm Ace became known for their vivacious, party-ready tunes that often incorporated quirky samples and a sense of humor, distinguishing themselves in the UK club scene.

Their self-titled debut album, released in 1997, was a veritable smash in the electronic music world. It featured the breakout track "Bentley's Gonna Sort You Out," which became an anthem of the era and showed up on numerous compilations, advertisements, and film soundtracks. Following up with their 2000 album "For Your Ears Only," BRA continued to explore their playful approach to music, combining funky basslines, lively beats, and eccentric sound snippets to create a soundscape unique to their persona. Though they have been less visible on the music scene in recent years, their contributions during the late '90s continue to influence the big beat and electronic genres.
