Bonerama

Bonerama is a brass funk rock band hailing from New Orleans, Louisiana, with a unique blend of traditional brass band sounds, funk, jazz, rock, and soul that creates an energetic and innovative musical experience. Formed in 1998 by trombonists Mark Mullins and Craig Klein—who both cut their teeth playing with Harry Connick Jr.'s big band—the group has since expanded to include a full rhythm section and additional brass, diversifying its sound and earning a reputation for its dynamic live performances. Bonerama's lineup often features a trio of trombones at the front, setting them apart in a genre where saxophones and trumpets typically dominate the brass sections.

The band has made a significant name for themselves both locally and nationally with a discography that showcases both original compositions and inventive arrangements of cover songs. Among their recent releases, "Bonerama Plays Zeppelin" pays homage to the legendary rock band Led Zeppelin, reimagining their iconic tracks with heavy brass instrumentation. With a mission to revolutionize the role of brass instruments in contemporary music, Bonerama continues to push musical boundaries, evident in tracks like "Empty World" and "Good Times Bad Times." They bring the spirit of New Orleans everywhere they go, translating the vivacity of their live show into spirited studio albums like “Hot Like Fire," and capturing the essence of their live performances in "Live from New York" and "Live at the Old Point." Bonerama remains an embodiment of the innovation and exuberance that characterizes the best of New Orleans' rich musical landscape.
