Cryptopsy

Cryptopsy is a Canadian technical death metal band known for their complex structures, intricate riffs, and brutal intensity. Formed in 1988 in Montreal, Quebec, under the name Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, the band underwent a series of name changes before settling on Cryptopsy. Over the years, they have crafted a unique sound that blends extreme metal ferocity with technical proficiency and has garnered a dedicated fan base within the metal community.

Cryptopsy's discography showcases a relentless pursuit of musical evolution, which is reflected in their groundbreaking albums like "None So Vile" (1996) and "Whisper Supremacy" (1998). With a reputation for thought-provoking lyrics and punishing instrumentals, the band's output includes a mix of full-length albums, live recordings, and EPs such as "The Book of Suffering - Tome I" (2015) and "The Book of Suffering - Tome II" (2018). Their self-titled album "Cryptopsy" (2012) marked a return to their roots and showed the band's consistency in delivering high-caliber death metal. Despite numerous line-up changes throughout the years, Cryptopsy remains a formidable force in the extreme metal scene, continuing to push the boundaries of the genre with their technical prowess and unyielding intensity.
