Harris Jayaraj

Harris Jayaraj is a renowned Indian film composer, songwriter, and soundtrack artist, born on January 8, 1975, in Chennai, India. He primarily composes music for Tamil films, but has also worked on projects in Telugu and Hindi. Harris began his musical journey at a young age, starting formal training in Carnatic music at six and later learning classical guitar. He began his career as a guitarist at twelve and eventually transitioned to keyboards and synthesizers. Before becoming a composer, Harris worked as a programmer under several notable music directors, including A. R. Rahman and Mani Sharma, contributing to over 600 projects by the year 2000.

Harris Jayaraj debuted as a composer with Gautham Menon's film "Minnale," which was a significant success. He has since become a leading figure in South Indian cinema, winning numerous prestigious awards, including multiple Filmfare Awards South and Mirchi Music Awards. His compositions are known for their catchy melodies and innovative use of synthesizers. Harris has also been honored with the Kalaimamani Award from the Government of Tamil Nadu and a Lifetime Achievement Award.
