Renaldo & Clara is a Catalan indie pop band from Lleida, led by composer and singer Clara Viñals. The group's name is inspired by Bob Dylan's 1978 film "Renaldo and Clara." Formed in 2009, they began their journey with a self-titled EP, showcasing a minimalist pop style influenced by 1970s British folk and the "Donosti sound." Over the years, they have released several notable albums, including "Fruits del teu bosc" in 2014 and "Els afores" in 2017, which was a finalist for the MIN Awards. Their music often features subtle yet detailed compositions. In 2020, they released "L'amor fa calor," marking a significant evolution in their sound. More recently, they have continued to produce engaging music, such as "La boca aigua" in 2023.
The band's lineup includes Clara Viñals on vocals and guitar, Hugo Alarcón on keyboards, guitar, and vocals, Oscar Huerta on bass, and Rodrigo Hernández on drums. Renaldo & Clara have collaborated with various artists, including Juli Bustamante and Xavier Baró. Their music often blends honesty with irony, creating a unique and captivating listening experience.
