Acoustic Alchemy

Acoustic Alchemy is a British contemporary instrumental and smooth jazz band that has consistently captivated audiences with their innovative and melodic soundscapes. Since their formation in the early 1980s, they have been at the forefront of blending eclectic elements ranging from jazz to new age and world music. The foundational lineup featured the dual guitar magic of Nick Webb and Simon James, but it was Webb's partnership with Greg Carmichael that solidified the band's signature sound and led them to international acclaim. Following Webb's untimely death in 1998, Carmichael continued the Acoustic Alchemy legacy, joined by Miles Gilderdale on guitar, thus maintaining the dual guitar formula that has defined the band's sound.

Over the years, Acoustic Alchemy's music has evolved, incorporating electronic elements and various genre influences while staying true to their melodic and smooth jazz core. Albums like "The Beautiful Game," "Radio Contact," and "Roseland" showcase the band's skill in crafting compositions that are both complex and accessible, signaling their mastery over their craft. The release of "Thirty Three and a Third" marks a significant milestone, demonstrating the band's enduring appeal and their ability to stay relevant in the ever-changing musical landscape. Acoustic Alchemy's journey is one of musical exploration and continuous evolution, reaffirmed by their impressive discography and the lasting impact they've had on contemporary jazz music.
