Maxim Vengerov is a Russian-born violinist and conductor. He began playing the violin at the age of five and made his debut with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of ten. Vengerov has since performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the New York Philharmonic, and the London Symphony Orchestra. He is known for his passionate and virtuosic playing, and has been praised for his interpretations of works by Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, and Shostakovich. In addition to his solo career, Vengerov is also a dedicated chamber musician and has collaborated with many of the world's leading musicians, including Martha Argerich, Daniel Barenboim, and Mischa Maisky.
