(G)I-DLE is a South Korean girl group formed by CUBE Entertainment and debuted on May 2, 2018. The group's unique name, pronounced as "idle," includes the "G" in brackets to signify "girl" and "I-DLE" as a nod to individuality. Initially consisting of six members—Miyeon, Minnie, Soojin, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua—the group faced changes when Soojin departed in 2021. Despite the lineup alteration, (G)I-DLE has continued to make strides in the K-pop scene with their distinctive self-composed music and fierce performances, solidifying their reputation for creative control and involvement in the production and songwriting process, particularly by member Soyeon.
