Lanz Khan, born Francesco Caputo in Milan in 1990, is a notable Italian rapper known for his visionary and hardcore hip hop style. He began immersing himself in hip hop culture around 2003, initially engaging with freestyle rap and breakdancing under the mentorship of DJ Twice. Lanz honed his skills in Milan’s vibrant hip hop scene, particularly at the legendary Muretto, a hub for artists since the 1980s. Early in his career, performing as "Lance," he gained recognition by winning various freestyle battles and developing a unique, image-rich writing style marked by historical and artistic references. Over the years, he was part of key hip hop crews like Strana Connessione and Taipan Shaytan, collaborating with influential artists and gradually making a strong name for himself in Italy’s underground scene.
His breakthrough came in 2013 when he won the Crazeology Competition against over 700 rappers and released his debut album "I Kill You," produced by Wesh and launched on the Bullz Records label. The album's raw, dark, and elegant poetic style earned him critical acclaim and secured his place among Italy’s prominent emerging rappers. Lanz Khan has shared stages with well-known American acts and performed extensively across Italy and abroad, also featuring on major projects such as the "Machete Mixtape III" and DJ Slait’s "Bloody Vinyl vol.2." His work continues to stand out for its hardcore approach combined with vivid storytelling and a strong artistic vision.
