Istvan Parkai
István Párkai was a Hungarian conductor, pianist, and music educator. He served as the Head of Department and professor at the Budapest Academy of Music, where he also taught conducting. Párkai was known for his work with choral music and made several recordings of Renaissance and Baroque vocal works, as well as 20th century Hungarian compositions. He conducted the Chamber Chorus of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, with whom he recorded works by composers like Florent Schmitt. Párkai passed away on March 17, 2023 at the age of 94.
