Carlos Miguel Prieto, born November 14, 1965, is a prominent conductor from Mexico with an international reputation for his dynamic conductorship and advocacy for Latin American music. Credited with invigorating the orchestras with which he works, Prieto's passion for both classical and contemporary repertoire has established him as a leader amongst the ranks of contemporary conductors. He has been the Music Director of the Louisiana Philharmonic and the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de México, amongst other ensembles, bringing zest and vigor to their performances.

A graduate of Princeton and Harvard Universities, where he majored in engineering and conducted violin studies, Prieto decided to dedicate his career to music. Throughout his career, he has conducted some of the most esteemed orchestras across North America, Europe, and beyond.
