Graham Parker & The Rumour

Graham Parker & The Rumour emerged as one of the most critically acclaimed UK rock acts of the 1970s. Frontman Graham Parker, known for his biting lyrics and indomitable stage presence, together with The Rumour—comprised of seasoned musicians Brinsley Schwarz and Martin Belmont on guitars, Bob Andrews on keyboards, Andrew Bodnar on bass, and Stephen Goulding on drums—synthesized pub rock with new wave and rhythm and blues, creating a sound that was simultaneously melodic, edgy, and filled with raw emotion.

The band's early work, highlighted by albums like "Howlin' Wind" (1976) and "Heat Treatment" (1976), reflected Parker's deep-rooted influence from American soul, the British Invasion, and the burgeoning punk scene. Despite not achieving massive commercial success, they garnered a cult following and significant respect among music critics. After a split in the early 1980s, Graham Parker & The Rumour would reunite several decades later, releasing the album "Three Chords Good" in 2012, followed by "Mystery Glue" in 2015. The band's recent reissued live recordings, like "Live At Trent Poly Sports Hall, Nottingham 1977" and "Legends Live in Concert (Live in Denver, CO, April 15, 1979)", allow new and old fans alike to experience the high-energy, compelling performances that have come to define their storied career.
