Major Spark is a Boston-based indie-rock duo consisting of Mark Goodman and Brian Charles, known for blending a wide range of influences—from psychedelic and new wave to pop and intimate storytelling—into a distinctive and dynamic sound. Mark, who previously formed the band Magnet and worked with notable figures like Moe Tucker of The Velvet Underground and Matt Wilson of Trip Shakespeare, teams up with Brian Charles, a producer and studio owner, to craft songs using innovative writing techniques that mix live loops, layered instrumentation, and evocative, often improvised vocals.
