P-MODEL

P-MODEL is an influential Japanese electronic rock band, notable for its pioneering role in the new wave and technopop movements of the late 1970s and 1980s. The band was founded in 1979 by frontman Susumu Hirasawa, who has been the only constant member throughout its history. P-MODEL's music is characterized by its use of synthesizers, complex rhythms, and often surreal, science fiction-themed lyrics.

P-MODEL underwent several line-up changes and stylistic shifts over the years but remained active in the Japanese music scene, consistently pushing the envelope with their sound. Their early work, including the critically acclaimed debut "IN A MODEL ROOM," which received a remaster in 2020, laid the groundwork for the band's futuristic soundscapes. The band's later albums, such as "PERSPECTIVE" and "potpourri," showcase a band that refused to stagnate, always looking to evolve their music. The group's discography has been revisited through remasters and re-issues, such as "LANDSALE (ランドセル) [2021 Remaster]," ensuring that new generations of listeners can experience P-MODEL's innovative approach to music. Despite the band's official disbandment in 2000, their legacy persists, influencing numerous artists in Japan and beyond.
