Luciel Izumi is a talented Bolivian composer and charango player, born on July 23, 1996, in La Paz, Bolivia. She began her musical journey under the influence of maestro William Centellas and has since become a prominent figure in Bolivian traditional and folk music, as well as fusion and jazz. Luciel is known for her skillful performances and compositions, which have earned her several prestigious awards, including first place at the Festival del Charango in Aiquile and recognition at the Concurso Solista Instrumental ABAIEM in Cochabamba. She leads the Luciel Izumi Jazz Quartet and has released several albums, including "Emociones" and "Un Mismo Suspirar."
Luciel's career has taken her to various stages, both locally and internationally, such as the Festijazz in Cochabamba and the WOMAD festival in Chile. She is also dedicated to teaching, offering classes at the Escuela Popular de Artes and private lessons. Her recent collaborations reflect her commitment to celebrating Bolivian diversity through music, as seen in her participation in the song "Juntos Sonamos Más Fuerte," which won the Best Collaboration award at the Bolivia Music Awards in 2023.
