Sawa Angstrom

**Sawa Angstrom** is a Kyoto-based alternative electronic trio formed in 2017 by Marina Kodama, Jun Hamada, and Satoshi Yoshioka. Known for chopping and reassembling synths, vocals, and breakbeats into intricate tracks, their sound blends ambient techno, chill-pop, and clickhouse, creating a style that’s both experimental and accessibly groovy. After their 2018 debut EP *DdTPt* earned them a European and Taiwanese tour, they’ve released multiple EPs and singles, with songs like *denchi* landing on Apple Music’s 2019 Top 100 Tracks list. Their music frequently appears in ads (like Fujifilm’s instax SQUARE SQ1 and Dospara’s gaming PCs), and their live shows—often paired with lighting design collective SPEKTRA—are immersive audiovisual experiences. Following a 2023 relaunch as “Sawa,” they’ve continued dropping genre-blurring tracks like *QUEST* and *BUBBLE!*, cementing their status as boundary-pushing favorites in indie and commercial circles alike.
