Subtle is an American hip hop duo formed in 1993 in San Francisco, California. The group consists of MC Doseone and producer DJ Shadow. They are known for their experimental and eclectic sound, which incorporates elements of hip hop, electronica, and jazz. Subtle has released seven studio albums, including "For Hero: For Fool" (2004), "Exiting Arm" (2009), and "A New White" (2014). They have also collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Beck, David Byrne, and Mike Patton.
