Oasis

Oasis, an English rock band hailing from Manchester, was formed in 1991 and quickly became one of the flagbearers of the Britpop movement in the mid-1990s. Centered around the tumultuous relationship of the Gallagher brothers, lead vocalist Liam and guitarist/songwriter Noel, the band saw immense success and notoriety for their anthemic songs, brash attitude, and explosive live performances. Their 1994 debut album 'Definitely Maybe' raced to the top of the UK charts, and the release of '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?' in 1995 solidified their status as international rock 'n' roll stars, with hits like "Wonderwall" and "Champagne Supernova" becoming generation-defining anthems.

Throughout their storied career, Oasis released seven studio albums, all of which entered the UK charts at number one, a testament to their widespread appeal and the enduring passion of their fanbase. Despite internal frictions and lineup changes, their music continued to evolve, as demonstrated in later albums such as 'Heathen Chemistry' and 'Dig Out Your Soul'. The band eventually disbanded in 2009, following a backstage altercation, but their legacy lives on. Their music continues to inspire, with live recordings like 'Knebworth 1996' serving as poignant reminders of their peak, capturing the band at the height of their fame in front of 250,000 fans over a two-night stand, a highlight of their career and a milestone in British rock history.
