Henry Hadley was an American composer, conductor, and music educator who lived from 1871 to 1937. He was known for his Romantic style and his contributions to American classical music. Hadley's works include four symphonies, several operas, and numerous chamber pieces. He also served as the conductor of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra from 1909 to 1915. Hadley's music is characterized by its lush harmonies, soaring melodies, and dramatic orchestration. He was a master of counterpoint and fugue, and his works often display a strong sense of form and structure.
