Geethiyaa Varman

Geethiyaa Varman is a talented Canadian singer and multi-instrumentalist of Sri Lankan Tamil descent, born and raised in Toronto, Canada. She has been involved in the creative arts from a very young age, starting with Carnatic vocal lessons from her mother at the age of four. Geethiyaa has also trained in the Veena and Bharathanatyam, an Indian classical dance form. She pursued Western music studies at York University and furthered her Veena training under renowned artists in India. Her music career gained significant traction after the viral success of her "Vaseegara" cover on YouTube, which has garnered over 11 million views. Geethiyaa has performed globally in countries like Australia, India, Dubai, Sri Lanka, and Singapore, and has contributed to various independent music albums and film soundtracks.

Geethiyaa's musical style blends Eastern and Western influences, making her a notable figure in the Indian fusion genre. She has collaborated with artists like Grammy Award winner Jim Kimo West and has been featured in several projects, including playback singing for films. Her original composition "Another World" was released as the first audio descriptive music video for the visually impaired community. In 2025, Geethiyaa will tour the United States with the "Lyric & Spirit" celebration of women's voices from around the world.
