Max Winter

Max Winter is a London-based artist known for blending experimental pop with adventurous production styles, drawing on his classical and jazz training from Trinity Laban conservatoire. His music creatively mixes ambient piano, virtuosic guitar, fractured techno, and string compositions, reflecting a broad palette of influences from jazz improvisation to electronic and folk elements. Winter has collaborated frequently with fellow artists like IMOGEN and producer Will Lister, exploring spontaneous and dynamic soundscapes in releases such as the singles “Lean Into Me” and “O Matter,” both out in 2023 on the untitled (recs) label.

A member of the live band Nourished By Time and collaborative project thredd, Max Winter also contributes music to exhibitions at Tate Britain and has recently announced his solo EP *Mourning Routine*, featuring his single “The Olympics.” His work balances energy and intimacy with layered string textures and compelling rhythmic drive. Winter’s approach is rooted in improvisation and collaboration, fueled by his desire to push genre boundaries while maintaining melodic coherence.
