Dynamq, born Kennedy Ongele Lorya, is a South Sudanese reggae-dancehall artist known for his vibrant stage presence and unique sound. Born in Juba, Sudan, Dynamq grew up in a refugee camp in Kenya after fleeing the civil war in his homeland. His love for music began in Sunday school, and he was influenced by Jamaican music while living in the camp. Dynamq's career took off after joining the world music collective One World Tribe and performing at the 1996 King Lions Sounds 'Rasta Festival' in Nairobi. He is also the founder of Dynamq Sounds International and the Dynamq Foundation, a non-governmental organization based in Juba.
Dynamq is credited with creating the "Ruka Muzik" genre, a blend of dancehall, zouk, R&B, and Soukous. He has shared the stage with numerous renowned artists, including Damian Marley, Beenie Man, and Buju Banton. Currently based in the United States, Dynamq continues to tour and work on new music projects, showcasing his dynamic style and energy to audiences worldwide.
