Esteban Alvarez is a Costa Rican-born pianist and Steinway Artist known for blending classical, jazz, and Latin traditions into his globe-trotting compositions. Starting piano at age 10, he earned full scholarships to study in the U.S., eventually releasing genre-fusing albums like *Tico Groove* (featuring jazz legends Ignacio Berroa and Lynn Seaton) and *Piano Meets Mariachi*, where his keyboard artistry intertwines with Mexico’s iconic mariachi sound. His *Roots of the World* project collaborates with artists across Latin America, and he’s performed everywhere from Hong Kong’s festivals to Formula 1 events, cementing his role as a cultural ambassador through music.
Currently based in Austin, Alvarez merges his academic training (Baylor University, University of North Texas) with a passion for cross-cultural exchange, inspiring young musicians while preparing new works that bridge continents and musical styles.
