Daniel Dodd-Ellis is a talented singer-songwriter and frontman known for his rich bass-baritone voice rooted in gospel, soul, and classical music. Starting his professional career at Southwestern University’s Sarofim School of Fine Arts, where he studied Theater and Music, Daniel has performed extensively in theater and opera both in the U.S. and Europe, including notable roles like the title character in Robert Wilson’s blues opera *The Temptation of St. Anthony*. Transitioning into popular music, he collaborated with German artist Marius Müller-Westernhagen and worked in Hamburg’s prestigious Home Studios as a vocalist and songwriter.
In 2003, he formed the Upper East Side Band, an acoustic soul ensemble that grew in size over the years, delivering a distinct blend of soul influences. His collaborations include work with electronic pioneer Burnt Friedman on several albums such as *Cease to Matter* and *Clock*. Daniel also serves as the Master of Ceremonies at the Baltic Soul Weekender, Europe's leading soul music festival. He continues to develop new music alongside members of the international collective Jazzanova, maintaining a vibrant presence in the soul and electronic music scenes.
