Sophie Kauer is a classically trained cellist who has performed with some of the world's most prestigious orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. She is also a passionate advocate for new music, and has premiered works by some of the world's leading composers, including Thomas Adès, Steve Reich, and Kaija Saariaho.
In addition to her work as a performer, Kauer is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. She is currently a professor of cello at the Royal Academy of Music in London, and she regularly gives masterclasses and workshops around the world. Kauer is also a committed supporter of music education, and she has worked with a number of organizations to bring music to young people from all backgrounds.
