Rush

Rush was a pioneering Canadian rock band formed in August 1968, consisting of bassist, keyboardist, and lead vocalist Geddy Lee, guitarist Alex Lifeson, and drummer and lyricist Neil Peart, who joined the band in 1974. Known for their complex compositions, virtuosic musicianship, and eclectic lyrical motifs drawing heavily from science fiction, fantasy, and philosophy, Rush's style evolved over the years, transitioning from blues-inspired hard rock in their early years to progressive rock and a more synthesizer-oriented approach in the late '70s and '80s, before returning to a guitar-driven sound in the '90s.

Over the course of their career, which spanned more than four decades, Rush released 19 studio albums, with "Moving Pictures" (1981) being their most commercially successful, recognized for its hit singles "Tom Sawyer" and "Limelight". The band's musicianship and complex works have earned them a legion of admirers and influenced countless bands across various rock genres. Although they stopped touring in 2015 and later announced they would not continue as a band following Neil Peart's death in January 2020, their legacy endures with a devoted fanbase and a lasting impact on rock music. The anniversaries of their classic albums have been celebrated with special reissues, showcasing the enduring appeal and influence of their unique sound and profound storytelling.
