Hot Victory

**Hot Victory** was a Portland-based electronic duo that brought raw energy to the live electronic scene in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Composed of Barry Deutsch and Sam Bass, the pair carved out a niche with their gritty, analog-driven sound, blending frenetic beats, distorted synths, and sci-fi atmospherics. Known for their stripped-down, sweat-drenched performances, they often toured with just a drum machine and a pile of cables, delivering chaotic dancefloor jams that felt more like a punk show than a synth act. Their 2008 debut *Vol. 1* became a cult favorite, while tracks like *Triangulum Australe* and *Nexus* showcased their knack for pairing hypnotic rhythms with lo-fi textures. Though they’ve been inactive since around 2012, Hot Victory’s DIY spirit and unpolished bangers left a mark on the experimental electronic underground.
