Metal Preyers is an experimental music project that brings together the talents of London-based producer Jesse Hackett and Chicago-born artist and musician Mariano Chavez, in collaboration with Ugandan percussion group Nyege Nyege Tapes. Formed during Hackett and Chavez's residency in Kampala, Uganda, Metal Preyers is a melting pot of electronic music sensibilities and traditional East African rhythms, creating a haunting and immersive soundscape that has captivated audiences globally.

Their self-titled debut album "Metal Preyers" was released in 2020, a result of weeks spent recording with local musicians and exploring the vibrant music scene of Kampala. The project is distinguished by its dark and hypnotic aesthetic, blending industrial tones with indigenous instrumentation. Following their critically acclaimed debut, they have continued to push boundaries with releases like "Shadow Swamps" and "Escape - The Sunrise," further establishing their reputation for eerie, cinematic soundscapes that are as entrancing as they are unconventional. Metal Preyers' work is a testament to the power of cross-cultural collaboration, offering listeners an otherworldly auditory experience that defies genre classification.
