Grizzly Bear

Grizzly Bear is an American indie rock band formed in the early 2000s in Brooklyn, New York. The group began as a moniker for the solo endeavors of Ed Droste, who released Grizzly Bear's debut album, "Horn of Plenty," primarily as a solo project in 2004. Following this release, Droste expanded the project into a full band, with the addition of Chris Bear, Daniel Rossen, and Chris Taylor. Grizzly Bear's sound is characterized by their use of intricate harmonies, atmospheric folk textures, and experimental approaches to songwriting and production, which has garnered them critical acclaim and a dedicated following.

The band came into the spotlight with their 2006 follow-up album, "Yellow House," which was a significant leap forward in their artistic vision. However, it was their 2009 release, "Veckatimest," that marked their breakthrough, debuting in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 and earning widespread praise, with hits like "Two Weeks" favorited by both fans and critics. Grizzly Bear continued to evolve their distinctive sound with albums like "Shields" in 2012 and the more recent, "Painted Ruins" in 2017. Both albums demonstrated their consistent ability to fuse emotional depth with complex arrangements. Through releases like "Shields: Expanded," "Shields: B-Sides," and "Will Calls (Marfa Demo)," the band has shown a willingness to explore and reinterpret their work, offering fans new perspectives on their rich discography. With their "Spotify Singles" and tracks like "Neighbors," "Four Cypresses," "Mourning Sound," and "Three Rings," Grizzly Bear has maintained their position as one of indie rock's most inventive and compelling acts.
