Superjoint

Superjoint, originally known as Superjoint Ritual until their reformation in 2014, is an American heavy metal band that emerged from the New Orleans metal scene. The band's style is a raw and aggressive amalgamation of hardcore punk and sludge metal, reflecting the diverse roots of its members. The group was founded by Phil Anselmo, famous for his role as the frontman of Pantera, along with Joe Fazzio on drums and Jimmy Bower on guitar, who is also known for his work with Eyehategod and Down.

Superjoint's existence has been marked by intermittent activity, with their initial run producing two full-length albums, "Use Once and Destroy" in 2002 and "A Lethal Dose of American Hatred" in 2003, which both received acclaim for their intensity and no-frills approach to metal. After a long hiatus and legal issues which prompted the slight name modification, Superjoint returned with their third album, "Caught up in the Gears of Application" in 2016. Staying true to their roots, the album delivered a punishing blend of Anselmo's blistering vocal style and the band's signature chaotic soundscapes, further cementing their position in the metal community as a force of unbridled ferocity and sonic aggression.
