Los Secretos

Los Secretos are a venerable institution in the Spanish music scene, renowned for their evocative lyrics and their blend of rock and pop with a distinctive melodic style deeply rooted in the post-Franco Movida Madrileña cultural movement. Originating from Madrid, the band was formed in the late 1970s by the Urquijo brothers - Enrique, Álvaro, and Javier. Their music seamlessly melds elements of British pop and American rock with a distinctly Spanish sensibility.

Tragedy struck the band when frontman Enrique Urquijo was found dead in 1999, a loss that deeply affected the group and their fans. However, Los Secretos persevered, with Álvaro stepping up as the lead vocalist. Their legacy includes iconic hits such as "Déjame", "La Calle del Olvido", and "Pero a tu lado". Over the years, they have continued to release new material and to celebrate their history, as seen in the live album "Desde Que No Nos Vemos", recorded at a tribute concert for Enrique. They maintain a devoted fan base and their songs have become anthems for multiple generations, telling stories of love, loss, and hope that resonate widely. Their adaptations and orchestral experiments, like the album "Sinfónico", showcase their versatility and relentless passion for reinventing their music while staying true to their roots.
