Armchair Boogie

Armchair Boogie is an energetic Americana/bluegrass band that seamlessly blends tradition with a unique contemporary flair. Hailing from Madison, Wisconsin, the group was formed in 2014 by Augie Dougherty (banjo) and Ben Majeska (guitar) while attending the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. They later recruited a rhythm section consisting of Denzel Connor (bass) and Eli Frieders (drums) to solidify their line-up. Known for their spirited live performances and infectious melodies, Armchair Boogie has carved out a niche in the folk music scene with their compelling blend of bluegrass, country, folk, and funk influences.

The group has consistently demonstrated their songwriting prowess and musical versatility with a series of releases that show a true respect for bluegrass traditions while also pushing boundaries. With albums and EPs like "Armchair Boogie," "The Western EP," and singles such as "Gone in a Day" and "Liquor Store," the band has engaged a growing audience, winning fans over with their technical musicianship, heartfelt lyrics, and foot-stomping grooves. Whether through thematic storytelling in songs like "What Does Time Care?" and "Hard Times" or the celebratory spirit of their track "That Lovin'," Armchair Boogie embodies the modern American spirit with all its complexity and fervor.
