Joost Dijkema

Joost Dijkema is a Dutch singer-songwriter and fingerpick guitarist from the north of the Netherlands, based in Groningen. Born in 1989, he initially started as a drummer but later transitioned to guitar during his teenage years. His music style blends elements of folk, Americana, and primitive guitar magic, as showcased in his debut album "Sacred Revelations," released in 2016. This album features a diverse range of sounds, including uplifting slide guitar pieces reminiscent of Leo Kottke. Dijkema's work is influenced by English folk and rock music, with artists like Michael Chapman being a significant inspiration. His recent releases include titles such as "After Thunder Sun," "An Arm Around Jack Frost," "Time Thief," and "Kokeleko," alongside his earlier work "Sacred Revelations."
