Kinetic Element

Kinetic Element is a neo/symphonic progressive rock band from Richmond, Virginia. They draw inspiration from classic bands like Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Yes, Asia, and Genesis, blending these influences with philosophical and spiritually uplifting lyrics. The band was formed to perform the music from Mike Visaggio's solo CD, "Starship Universe," released in 2006. Over the years, Kinetic Element has developed their own repertoire, including albums like "Powered By Light" (2009), "Travelog" (2015), "The Face of Life" (2019), and more recently, "Chasing the Lesser Light" (2023). The band's lineup includes St. John Coleman on vocals, Mike Visaggio on keyboards, Michael Murray on drums, Peter Matuchniak on guitar, and Mark Tupko on bass.

Kinetic Element has had notable performances at various festivals, including ProgStock, ROSfest, and Terra Incognita. They have also supported acts like Circa and Morglbl. Their music often features complex compositions and guest collaborations, such as with Fred Schendel and Steve Babb of Glass Hammer, who mixed their albums "Travelog" and "The Face of Life." The band continues to evolve, with ongoing work on new music projects.
