Amaryllis Quartett

The Amaryllis Quartett is a highly acclaimed string quartet known for its refreshing and unconventional approach to classical music. The ensemble combines traditional Germanic Classical and Romantic era string quartets with works from the Second Viennese School, creating unique listening experiences. Trained by renowned mentors such as Walter Levin in Basel and the Alban Berg Quartet in Cologne, the quartet has won numerous international awards, including the Finalists’ Prize at the Premio Paolo Borciani and the First Prize at the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition. Their performances have taken them to prestigious venues like the Alte Oper Frankfurt and the Wiener Musikverein, and they frequently collaborate with notable chamber music partners.

The quartet is also recognized for its "Color Series," which includes albums like "White," "Red," "Green," "Blue," and "Yellow," each juxtaposing works from different historical periods. Their 2011 release, "White," featuring Haydn and Webern, won the ECHO Klassik Award for Best Chamber Music Recording in 2012. The Amaryllis Quartett is dedicated to passing on their expertise through masterclasses and teaching at German music conservatories.
