Kumkum Sanyal

Kumkum Sanyal is a renowned Hindustani vocalist known for her versatility and rigorous teaching approach. Born in Chakdaha, West Bengal, she comes from a musically inclined family—her father was a flutist, and her mother a vocalist. Kumkum has been a Boston area resident for nearly two decades and has gained recognition as a performer and educator. She has studied under esteemed gurus such as Shri Amalendu Pal, Pandit Vishmadev Bhaolttacharyya, and Pandit Vinayak Torvi, incorporating elements from the Gwalior, Kirana, and Patiala styles into her music.
