TYGERMYLK is an indie folk and alt-pop music project led by Hayley Harland, based in Brighton and Hastings, UK. Known for her dreamy, emotionally charged songwriting and shimmering production, Hayley partners with Aurora Bennett to form the duo. Their music blends heartfelt intimacy with psychedelic atmospheres, touching on themes like queer identity and personal struggles. Songs like "I Killed the Bees," a climate activism anthem inspired by Hayley's family, and "Natali," born from a surreal personal experience, showcase their unique, thoughtful approach to songwriting. Beyond music, Hayley is also a passionate advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and disability inclusivity and creatively makes tiger-themed face masks, which she donates to key workers.
The duo surfaced with their debut single “What God Would Keep Us Apart,” a poignant song about first love and family challenges following the discovery of queerness. They have performed in unique settings—during lockdown, Hayley notably performed intimate gigs from the back of a tiny car. Their sound combines indie folk sensibilities with atmospheric alt-pop, delivered through evocative vocals and harmonies. TYGERMYLK has been gaining attention for combining vulnerable storytelling with engaging production that resonates deeply with listeners, firmly establishing themselves in the UK's indie music scene.
