Violent Soho

Violent Soho is an Australian alternative rock band hailing from the suburbs of Brisbane, Queensland. Formed in 2004, the band comprises Luke Boerdam (vocals, guitar), James Tidswell (guitar, vocals), Luke Henery (bass, vocals), and Michael Richards (drums). They garnered a dedicated following with their raw, grunge-infused sound and earnest lyrical content that resonates with the disaffected youth and those nostalgic for the alternative rock of the '90s. Violent Soho's rise to prominence in the Australian music scene was bolstered by their self-titled album in 2008, and their breakout came with the critically acclaimed album "Hungry Ghost" in 2013, which saw singles such as "Covered in Chrome" become anthems of a new rock resurgence.

The subsequent releases, "WACO" in 2016 and "Everything Is A-OK" in 2020, continued to solidify their presence in the rock sphere, with both albums winning the ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album in their respective release years. The band's music catalog is known for its potent combination of energetic riffs, boisterous choruses, and a fervent live presence that has captivated audiences nationwide. With a discography featuring memorable tracks like "Viceroy," "Like Soda," and "Fur Eyes," Violent Soho has firmly established themselves as a mainstay of Australian rock, celebrated for their authenticity and their unapologetic approach to music and performance.
