Killer Mike

Michael Render, better known by his stage name Killer Mike, is an American rapper, activist, and one-half of the critically acclaimed hip-hop duo Run the Jewels. Born on April 20, 1975, in Atlanta, Georgia, Killer Mike made his debut in the music industry with a feature on OutKast's 2000 LP "Stankonia," immediately setting a precedent for his politically charged and socially conscious lyricism. His first solo album, "Monster," was released in 2003, showcasing his powerful voice and gritty, Southern-style beats.

Over the years, Killer Mike has evolved into an influential voice both in and out of the music industry. His recent solo ventures, including the "MICHAEL" album and its deluxe version, have continued to demonstrate his versatility as an artist and his commitment to addressing complex social issues through his music. Tracks like "MAYNARD VIGNETTE" feature T.I., JID, and Jacquees, manifesting his knack for collaboration and curation, while songs such as "MOTHERLESS" and its Robert Glasper Rendition evoke deep emotion and narrative storytelling. With other releases like "SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS" with Future, and "Don't Let The Devil," Killer Mike's discography reflects not only his robust political activism but also his relentless pursuit of pushing hip-hop's boundaries as a medium for cultural expression and commentary.
