Hybrid Protokol is a dynamic duo from Kolkata, India, consisting of Soumajit Ghosh and Aneesh Basu. Formed in 2014 (though some sources suggest 2015), they specialize in blending progressive electronica with breaks, acid, and techno. Their music is heavily influenced by 80s and 90s electronic acts like Chemical Brothers and Underworld, as well as modern artists such as Nina Kraviz. The duo is known for their energetic live performances, which feature a wide array of synthesizers, drum machines, and samplers. Their sound is characterized by aggressive bass lines, funky breaks, and melodic arpeggiations, often incorporating field recordings and ambient soundscapes into their analog studio setting.

Soumajit brings a strong background in North Indian Classical Music, while Aneesh is a National Award-winning sound designer. Together, they have created a unique sound that has captivated audiences across India. Their recent works include soundtracks for feature films and collaborations with contemporary dancers. Some of their notable releases include *The Phoenix Rising*, *Samsara*, and *Jhilli Soundtrack Album*. Hybrid Protokol has been recognized for their contributions to the Indian electronic music scene, including a nomination for "Best Newcomer Electronica Artist in India" by the Radiocity Freedom Awards in 2016.
