Höör Barock

Höör Barock is a renowned Swedish early music ensemble based in the small village of Höör in southern Sweden. Led by recorder virtuoso Emelie Roos and lutenist Dohyo Sol, the group has carved out an impressive reputation for historically informed performances of Baroque and early music. Since their debut in 2017, Höör Barock has released four critically acclaimed albums featuring works by composers like Telemann, Corelli, Bach, Monteverdi, and Johan Helmich Roman. Their recordings, known for their vibrant and authentic sound, have earned them significant international recognition, including a Swedish Grammy in 2020 for the album "Golovinmusiken," directed by Dan Laurin.

Emelie Roos, a leading figure in the ensemble, is celebrated for her virtuosity and diverse musicianship on the recorder, which she blends seamlessly with period instruments to revive music from the Renaissance through the 18th century. Höör Barock also hosts a popular annual summer festival that attracts audiences across Sweden and beyond, further establishing their place as one of Sweden’s premier Baroque ensembles. Their music is regularly broadcast on Swedish radio and enjoys wide international attention, solidifying Höör Barock’s status as champions of early music with a distinctly Swedish flair.
