Gregg Rolie is a legendary keyboardist and vocalist best known as a founding member of two iconic rock bands: Santana and Journey. He was the original lead singer and keyboardist for Santana, contributing his signature Hammond B3 organ sound and vocals to classic tracks like “Black Magic Woman” and “Evil Ways” in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. Rolie's bluesy, soulful voice and vibrant playing helped define Santana’s fusion of rock and Latin music.
After his time with Santana, Rolie went on to co-found Journey in the mid-1970s, taking on keyboard duties and sharing vocal responsibilities in the band’s early years before Steve Perry joined. Over the decades, Rolie has remained active in the music scene, performing as a solo artist and collaborating with fellow rock legends. Most recently, he released Sonic Ranch in 2019, showcasing his enduring talent and passion for roots-driven rock and blues.
